“Planning a Hyderabad trip? Come with me as we explore the historic Golconda Fort! In this video, I’ll show you the must-see places, trip plan, and useful travel tips. Let’s begin our Hyderabad sightseeing adventure

Golconda Fort is one of the most famous historical forts in Telangana. The original fort was built by the Kakatiya dynasty and was later expanded and strengthened by the Qutb Shahi rulers.

Golconda became a major centre of trade, culture and the diamond industry. The region was famous for precious diamonds, and some legendary diamonds, including the Koh-i-Noor, are historically associated with the Golconda diamond region.

The fort is also famous for its amazing acoustic system. A clap near the entrance can reportedly be heard at the higher parts of the fort. The massive gateways, walls, palaces and water systems show the remarkable engineering of that period.

🙏 Ramadasu and Golconda

One of the most famous stories connected with Golconda is the story of Kancherla Gopanna, popularly known as Bhakta Ramadasu.

Gopanna was a devoted follower of Lord Rama. He served as a revenue official during the rule of Abul Hasan Qutb Shah (Tanisha).

According to the traditional story, Gopanna used government revenue to renovate and develop the Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple at Bhadrachalam, because of his deep devotion to Lord Rama.

When the king learned that government money had been used for the temple, Gopanna was arrested and brought to Golconda Fort. He was imprisoned there and spent his time praying and singing devotional songs to Lord Rama.

The traditional legend says that Lord Rama and Lakshmana appeared before the king in disguise and repaid the money used for the temple. After realizing what had happened, Tanisha released Gopanna.

From then on, Gopanna became famous as Bhakta Ramadasu, one of the great devotees and composers associated with Telugu devotional music.

“Welcome to Golconda Fort, one of Hyderabad’s most magnificent historical landmarks. Behind these massive walls lies a fascinating story of kings, culture and devotion.

Golconda is also connected with the legendary story of Bhakta Ramadasu, a great devotee of Lord Rama. According to tradition, Ramadasu was imprisoned here after using government revenue for the development of the Bhadrachalam temple.

His unwavering devotion and the legend of Lord Rama’s intervention made his story an unforgettable part of Golconda’s history. Today, when we walk through this historic fort, we can feel the connection between history, architecture and devotion.”
