As per Hindu mythology Lord Krishna along with his pride wife Sathya Bhama Killed demon called Narakasura.
While returning from war fare to kingdom people start celebrating their joy by beating drum and bursting the crackers.
Till today on the eve of Diwali a procession carring Effigy of Narakasura in the street of Goa with tradional dances and drum beating is worth wathching.
At the end of the procession they burnt the effigy and burst the crackers in public place is a wonderful experience to enjoy the glimpses of such event. Diwali is a big festival for business community as they perform Laxmi pooja.
Diwali is all about lights. Streets and shops decorated in various forms of lights and mood of the business is up-beating.
