Kerala travel and tourism places Beachs,temples.

Kovalam 16 Km from Trivandrum is gifted with a world famous Beach. The tall red and white striped light house is the main attaraction of the beach. The light house, which is more than 30 meters high, is open from 2 pm to 4 pm. Vizhinjam Lighthouse at Lighthouse Beach offers superb views across to the Kovalam Jama Masjid.

Waters and pleasant climate make Kovalam a great spot for swimming and sun-bathing. The coast at many places is lined with beautiful patches of coral reefs which you can explore by snorkelling.

The Kovalam beach is divided three successive crescent beaches into three Lighthouse Beach, Hawa Beach and Samudra.

Trivandrum:-

Thiruvananthapuram or Trivandrum is the of Kerala. The city is considered as one of the most beautiful travel destinations in the state of Kerala. The city is loaded with pristine and tranquil beaches and many more beautiful tourist attractions. The natural beauty of the city of Trivandrum is also awesome and it attracts thousands of people from various corners of the world. Shree Padhmanabhaswamy temple


Shree Padhmanabhaswamy temple is located inside the East Fort. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, & a blend of the Kerala and Dravidian styles of architecture. The temple has a large complex with a huge gopuram. It has a tank beside it for ritual bathing

Padmanabhapuram Palace : is 54 kms from Thiruvananthapuram across the border in Tamil Nadu's Kanyakumari district, the palace built in the 14th Century at the foot of the Veli hills.

Kuthiramalika Palace Museum:

Kuthiramalika Palace Museum, a classic specimen of Kerala Architecture is situated in 'Kuthiramalika'. The palace was built by Maharaja Swathi Thirunal Balarama Varma - the King of Travancore,. The palace, with its excellent carvings and marvelous architectural designs, is by itself a slice of heritage.

Science & Technology Museum:

The Science and Technology Museum, situated in Thiruvananthapuram was established with the prime objective of setting up of galleries with working, animated or participatory type of exhibits, on all disciplines of Science and Technology.

Veli Tourist Village:

The seemingly placid sheet of water that backed away from the visibility reverberant sea offers a general idea of the famous backwaters of Kerala. Located near the airport this popular picnic spot offers landscaped gardens and water-sports facilities.Pedal boats, rowboats, and motored boats are available.Children in particular have a lot of fun and frolic climbing over the huge sculptures, which dot the landscape, and riding a ferry.

Sankhumugham Beach
:

The Shankhumugham Beach is 8 kms from Thiruvananthapuram city, is a favourite haunt of sunset watchers. The beach is adjacent to Airport and Veli.the 'Matsya Kanyaka', a gigantic 35 m long sculpture of a mermaid and a restaurant shaped like a starfish are the major attractions here.

Varkala Beach:

Varkala 55 kms from Trivandrum is an important pilgrim centre for the devotees of Sree Narayana Guru High cliff with rich mineral springs rise majestically from the coastline. The 2000 year old Janardana Swamy Temple and the Nature Centre are the two main attractions. The beach named as Papanasam- an auspicious place, for Hindus to worship their ancestors.

Vizhinjam 2kms from Kovalam is believed to be an ancient port. The Dutch and Portugese had commercial establishments here. It is being developed as a modern fishing harbour.

Ponmudi A pleasant resort at an elevation of 912m above sea level. It is 61 kms from Thiruvananthapuram and connected by road. There are many tree and rubber estates around the hills.

The Kanakakunnu Palace is in the heart of Trivandrum city is one of the most beautiful buildings. The palace and its extensive grounds are today the venue for many cultural programmes. The Museum building is an architectural splendour. The napier museum, the natural history museum, the reptile house and the Shri Chitra Art Gallery are in the same complex amidst a well laid out garden and park.

Sree Chitira Art Gallery - Located near the Napier Museum, displays selected paintings of Raja Ravi Varma, Svetlova and Nicholas Roerich and wonderful works from the Rajput, Mughal and Tanjore schools of Art In India.

Aruvikkara Dam - 16 kms away from Trivandrum is on the banks of the Karamana River.

Kanyakumari
– the southern most tip of Inida is 100kms from Trivandrum. It is one of the most popular tourist spots in the country Kanyakumari is the confluence of the bay of Bengal, the Arabian sea and the Indian ocean.All this places to kerala.
